Did you know that
the average American creates 4.5 pounds of trash per day?

In today’s post:

TRIVIA OF THE WEEK
5 FACTS
Are wombats faster than Usain Bolt? ⚡️
They may look cuddly, but wombats are full of surprises:
Wombats have cube-shaped poop! They stack their poop to create towers to mark their territory. 💩
Their legs are short, but wombats can sprint up to 25 mph - almost as fast as Usain Bolt! 💨
They are expert diggers. Their underground burrows can stretch over 100 feet and include separate rooms for sleeping and safety. 🦺
Wombats can go years without drinking water! They get moisture from plants and save energy with a slow metabolism and by avoiding the sun. 💧
Baby wombats are born after just 20 days and are the size of a jellybean. After birth, the baby will climb into its mother’s pouch and stay there for another 6 months before venturing out. 🏴

DID YOU KNOW?
Why do we have 2 nostrils? 👃
Although we can breathe through our mouths, our noses do more than just help us breathe. They filter dust, warm the air, and add moisture before the air reaches our lungs.
But there’s more! Did you know that you don’t breathe evenly through both nostrils?
One nostril works harder while the other rests. After a few hours, they switch so the first nostril can rest and recover moisture.
Having two nostrils also helps with smell.
Air moves slower through the resting nostril, giving scent chemicals more time to stick. That tiny difference between how they stick between each nostril helps your brain figure out where smells are coming from!

PICK OF THE WEEK
Life on the ice 🧊
How do icebreakers not get stuck in the ice?
Fun facts:
Glaciers hold 69% of the world’s freshwater! 🌎
If all the glaciers melted, sea levels could rise by nearly 200 feet. 🌊
Glacial ice looks blue because it absorbs red light and reflects blue light. 🔵

* According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2015, the last year they published this data.
** While humans and bananas share around 50% of the same DNA, we’re really nothing alike - that covers less than 2% of our total DNA!
