Why do we get brain freezes? 🥶

  1. Something cold hits the roof of your mouth. 🧊

  2. The cold makes the blood vessels constrict, then rapidly dilate. 🩸

  3. Nearby nerves send an emergency “something’s wrong!” signal. ⚠️

  4. Your brain misreads the location - so the pain feels like it’s coming from your forehead 🧠

  • Press your tongue or finger to the roof of your mouth 👅

  • Sip warm water 🥛

  • Slow down on the cold snacks (easier said than done!) 🍦
